In Class and On Time

At EHMS, we know the positive impact that class time has on academic performance and student success. Part of maximizing class time is arriving at school on time. EHMS opens our doors daily at 7:55 a.m. and students are expected to be in class, ready to learn at 8:10 a.m.

Additionally, a necessary skill for EHMS students is navigating our hallways safely and appropriately. East Hartford Middle School allows students four minutes passing time between classes. We expect our students to arrive for each class, on time when the bell rings. EHMS has a Tardy to School and a Tardy to Class Policy that will be enforced.

Daily Hallway Expectations of Students

  • In Period 1 at 8:10 a.m.
  • In class on time when the bell rings for each period.
  • Walk in the hallways, do not run.
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  • Use appropriate language.
  • Keep your phone in yo backpack or your pocket.
  • Ask your teacher for permission and a pass to leave their classroom

EHMS Administration may apply progressive discipline if students are not meeting hallway expectations.
